There is joy unending in the Kardashian-West household after the famous couple welcomed their child together.

Their surrogate who has been discovered to be African-American gave birth to a healthy baby girl at 12:47 am on January 15, exactly on schedule.

The couple have not yet revealed the name of their daughter although both parents were present for the birth.

Kanye was behind a screen until the baby had been delivered by the surrogate.

Sources also report that Kim Kardashian was the first to hold the baby girl after her birth to enable proper skin-to-skin bonding.

The surrogate was also allowed some contact with the child after the birth.

The couple say they are incredibly grateful to their surrogate.

Social media savvy Kim Kardashian immediately took to her website to pen a message to fans after the birth.

She titled the personal message ‘She’s here! We’re so in love.’

She further wrote underneath the title,

‘Kanye and I are happy to announce the arrival of our healthy, beautiful baby girl.

‘We are incredibly grateful to our surrogate who made our dreams come true with the greatest gift one could give and to our wonderful doctors and nurses for their special care. North and Saint are especially thrilled to welcome their baby sister. Love, Kim Kardashian West.’

Kim Kardashian hasn’t been spotted in public following the birth of her second daughter.

Kanye meanwhile was seen in Los Angeles looking like a proud father as he entered a building.

The ‘Ultralight Beam’ rapper held onto a laptop and his cell phone as he wore a dark brown sweat outfit.

Kim’s family also supported her during the delivery.

Her sisters Kourtney, Khloe, and mother Kris were present at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A., where the family’s doctor Dr. Paul Crane oversaw the delivery.

Kim and Kanye made the joint decision to go the surrogate route due to Kim’s health issues.

Reality star Kim suffered complications with her two pregnancies.

She was a victim of early-onset preeclampsia with North, two, and had further troubles during labor with Saint, two.

The surrogate route has not been a bed of roses with Kim revealing that it was a stressful process.

She revealed that not been in control at all times proved to be a nerve-wracking experience.

‘Anyone that says or thinks it is just the easy way out is just completely wrong. I think it is so much harder to go through it this way because you are not really in control.

‘And, you know, obviously you pick someone that you completely trust and that you have a good bond and relationship with, but … knowing that I was able to carry my first two babies and not my baby now, it’s hard for me’.

Barring the aspect of control, she has also had trouble explaining the process to her children especially her eldest North.

She chose not to invite the surrogate to her lavish baby shower in November to avoid confusing her little ones.

Kim and Kanye started dating in 2012 and were wed in 2014 in a lavish ceremony in Italy.
